Prepare a consistent photo width without editing each file separately. This page starts with a 1200px maximum width, JPEG output and 92% quality. The height follows the original aspect ratio, and smaller sources are not enlarged. Choose maximum height or percentage when another constraint suits your work; choose a platform preset only when you need an exact padded canvas.
How it works
- Start with the selected 1200px maximum width or choose another width, height or percentage value.
- Choose your download format before adding a batch. Review output dimensions in each ready row.
- Inspect the preview for detail, re-compress if you change settings and download the resized images together.
Choose the right resize control
| Feature | Original dimensions | Resized dimensions |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum width | Different source widths | Images wider than the limit shrink; height follows proportionally |
| Maximum height | Different source heights | Images taller than the limit shrink; width follows proportionally |
| Percentage | Original width and height | Both dimensions scale by the chosen percentage |
| Platform size | Mixed source shapes | Exact canvas with whole-image fit and white padding |
Frequently asked questions
Will every result be exactly 1200 pixels wide?
No. Maximum width is an upper limit. Sources already narrower than 1200px keep their smaller width; this tool does not enlarge them. A platform preset creates an exact canvas instead.
Can I set maximum width and maximum height at the same time?
The current custom controls use one axis or a percentage at a time. For a predefined exact square or banner canvas, choose a platform preset. Arbitrary two-axis canvas editing is not currently offered.
Can I preserve a transparent image?
Choose PNG, WebP or AVIF before uploading, and leave Platform size on Custom size. JPEG and platform canvases flatten transparency onto white.
Why can a resized file still be larger?
Pixel count is only one part of file size. The chosen format, quality and original encoding also matter. Explicit resizing is honored rather than being undone by the size guard.
